Pauline

Ever since the release of Super Mario Odyssey, I was glad to know that this character made another return to the Super Mario franchise. Pauline, or also known as Daniella Verducci, is quite the underground character of the Super Mario series, as she previously only appeared in the Mario vs. Donkey Kong video games. To give this woman major credit though, she was one of the original characters of the video game that started off and even gave birth to the entire Super Mario legacy, "Donkey Kong" which came out in 1981. In that game, she was addressed as merely "Lady" or "Damsel"and she was the former leading lady who Mario, also originally addressed as "Jumpman", would try to rescue. However, ever since the creation of the entire Super Mario series and franchise that would follow after, Pauline and Mario would facilitate themselves as merely friends, or former lovers. Like many others, I'm actually rather impressed that she's still a member of the Super Mario cast and I'm actually fascinated with where the franchise took her. Being the Mayor of New Donk City, and a talented singer at that, was quite the major step for her character. Hope you guys like the drawing of her!
